3rd Annual 100 Inning Ball Game

With another successful minor baseball and softball season winding down it’s time to get ready for our 3rd Annual 100 Inning Ball Game in Port Hood. This is the primary fundraiser for Dave Muise Ball Field, and it only works with the help of all our players!

The game will be played on Saturday, September 8th starting at 10am. Different age groups will be made into 2 teams to compete all day long. The score is carried over from one age group to the next for 100 innings.

To earn prizes players will need to get their friends, neighbours, and families to sponsor them at 10¢ an inning (print off your own info sheet and pledge sheet). For every $100 in pledges raised by a player their name is entered into a draw with a grand prize of a new Apple iPod Touch 32GB.

Last year we raised close to $2,000 and Carson MacEachern won the iPod! The funds helped pay for our new infield soil and upcoming dugout repairs.

This is a family fun day with food and drinks available. Children and parents of all ages are welcome to participate in the game. You don’t have to play minor ball or even raise money to participate – we can probably even lend you a ball glove!

Be sure to pass this on to anyone you think might be interested in participating, and let me know if you’d like to help out.

Port Hood Minor Baseball will be holding workouts at the Bayview gym for the upcoming season. These sessions will be open to players in the mosquito and peewee divisions (birth years 2005-2009). Due to space constraints a max of 30 players will be taken.

The first session begins this Friday Feb 23rd from 3-5pm and the second session the following Friday March 2 from 3-5pm. Players can wear shorts/track pants, running shoes, t-shirt, and cap and bring their gloves. No bats required.

Depending on gym availability there will be a minimum of 1 session per week with the possibility of 2 per week in April.

Pre-registration is required to ensure we don’t exceed our numbers. Please email or call/text Sheldon MacDonald at sheldon@lpelectric.ca or 902-631-5759.

The cost will be $40 for all sessions payable by cash or cheque made out to Port Hood Minor Baseball. E-transfer can be sent to sheldon@lpelectric.ca. Please make password “baseball”. All money received will be used to purchase new equipment for the upcoming season.

Players must bring a note to their teacher saying that they have permission to stay after school.

Thank you
Sheldon MacDonald
