Our Port Hood Mosquito B & C teams went head to head this week in CB League action. On Tuesday in Port Hood the B team won 14-4 as the game was called in the 5th due to lightning. On Wednesday in Judique the B team came out on top again, this time 19-1.
This weekend the Mosquito A team travels to Kentville for a 6 team tournament.
The Mosquito A team’s strong pre-season saw them moved up to AA in the Bluenose league, and they opened their regular season with 4 road wins. Saturday they defeated Bridgewater 11-2 and 19-13. Sunday they went to Enfield and beat East Hants 9-7 and 15-5. They’re now 4-0.
The Mosquito B (6-0) team beat Port Hawkesbury 1 twice in a home and away matchup, by scores of 13-8 and 12-11 in CB League action.
Also in the CB League, Mosquito C (1-5) lost 2 games at home in a doubleheader Saturday with the Sydney Blue Jays – 12-1 and 22-12.
The Peewees played Port Hawkesbury 1 on Sunday and lost 14-1.
Our Mosquito B and C teams were both in action tonight.
The B team (3-0) came up with a 14-0 win in Inverness over the Ravens. Game 2 is Wednesday in Judique at 6:30pm.
The C team (1-2) hung on for a 12-11 win in Creignish, their first win of the season. Game 2 is Wednesday in Port Hood at 6:30pm.
Tuesday in Port Hood the Mosquito A team (3-1) host Strait at 6pm in Bluenose League action.
The 11U Mosquito B Port Hood Red Sox (2-0) swept their home & home series with Creignish last night, winning 15-5 in Judique.
The 11U Mosquito C Port Hood Red Sox (0-1) lost their opening game at home to the Inverness Ravens in Port Hood in a close 14-13 game. The second game is tonight in Inverness at 6pm.
The 11U Mosquito B Port Hood Red Sox opened their 2017 Cape Breton League season last night with a win on the road, grabbing an early lead and hanging on to defeat the Dukes 10-9 in Creignish. Tonight they host Creignish in Judique at 6pm.
The 11U Mosquito C Port Hood Red Sox host the Inverness Ravens tonight at 6pm in Port Hood in their CB League season opener. Wednesday they travel to Inverness for game 2 at 6pm.
