Mosquito AA Provincials

The Mosquito Warriors travelled to Cole Harbour on the weekend to compete for the Mosquito AA Provincial title in an 8 team tournament. Their first game Friday was scoreless into the 5th inning before they ended up losing 7-3. The next day they got back to form beating Tri-County 7-3 and Dartmouth 6-5 clinching a spot in Sunday’s crossovers as the 2nd seed in Pool A.

A very exciting game against Springhill ended in a loss with a walk-off single in the bottom of the 6th for a 5-4 final. Springhill went on to defeat New Glasgow 2-1 in the final for the Championship.

Mosquito Results

The Mosquito B team had a best of 3 provincial qualifying series against the Richmond B team, and lost in 2 games on the road, 17-9 and 8-3. They remain at the top of the CB League with a 6-0 record.

The Mosquito A team split a doubleheader with Strait Mosquito A on Saturday, winning the first game 11-5 then dropping the second game 8-7. On Sunday in Judique they hosted the Truro Bearcats Mosquito AA team and lost 2 close games, 9-6 and 8-4. Their Bluenose League Mosquito AA record is now 4-2.

The Mosquito C team (1-8) lost a close 16-13 game on the road in Port Hawkesbury. The rematch was postponed due to rain.

Mosquito A claims 2nd place at Kentville Invitational

The Mosquito A Warriors were in Kentville on the weekend for a 6 team tournament. Friday they defeated Dartmouth 12-2 and Prospect 22-19. On Sunday they defeated Cole Harbour to go 3-0 and earn a spot in the crossovers.

Sunday they won their crossover game 13-12 with a walk off RBI single from Parker MacDonald in the 6th inning in one of the most exciting games of the season.

Unfortunately their run ended with a 15-8 loss to Dartmouth in the championship game.

Mosquito Action

Our Port Hood Mosquito B & C teams went head to head this week in CB League action. On Tuesday in Port Hood the B team won 14-4 as the game was called in the 5th due to lightning. On Wednesday in Judique the B team came out on top again, this time 19-1.

This weekend the Mosquito A team travels to Kentville for a 6 team tournament.
